2021.12.02 09:08 bsjdjdjjsjsh What happened to Alexander the great's royal scepter? Does it or can it still exist or is it a lost treasure forever?
I know that his "cuirass" is probably lost forever as i have read all his stuff was removed from his body later. It looks a lot like some random piece of armor but made mostly of cloth so it would have disintegrated by nor or as one person on a history forum speculated it ended up in some ancient storehouse and simply got thrown away in the end as no one knew what it was, but what about his royal scepter? It would be a clear treasure and couldn't be misstaken for some random piece of armor (or junk in this case)
Where could it be? Egypt, Greece or perhaps lost on the road. I know mods usually remove such comments, but I feel like a fair bit of speculation should be allowed since theres so many places it could have ended up. What do you think based on what historical facts you know

2021.12.02 09:08 trintomato Do you think the event stories of Arknights are difficult for new players to delve into?
Lore-related discussion. I've been playing the game for about a month now, about Rank 48–but why do I still feel like I don't know so much about the game's lore? Whenever I read an event story it feels like I've opened a novel at a random page and am expected to figure out what is happening from the little context provided.
I started during Under Tides, and as a new player, understood very little about what was going on. I had no clue who Specter was, what an Abyssal Hunter was and pretty much everything about Skadi's origins. Expecting to get it after some time, I left the rest of the story for a more lore-experienced me to enjoy later on.
It's been about a month and I still feel as though all the event stories seem to require some sort of context which I have no idea where to find. Have I missed out on old events that give some sort of prerequisite information? Are all these things explained in the main story eventually?
How long did it take for you to really know everything that was going on in every event? What do you guys think of the way the side stories are presented to beginners?
Really looking forward to see what others think about this.

2021.12.02 09:08 DSM0305 Language
Awhile ago a brother asked me, why is language so important to you. This question may sound simple, but in reality it has too big of a debth for a comment and I thought it needed it own thread.
For me personally. The language is the only thing that remains of a culture. With time all other cultural aspects will either cease to exist or change. Unlike Farsi, Pashto have only Afghanistan to hold it together. It should be in the interest of every Pashtun regardless of whether they speak Pashto, Dari, Urdu or a third language, whether they live in Pashtun region or abroad, to promote and improve the circumstances for Pashto development.
The other reason it is important that unlike other languages, our so called "hamwatan" are actively pursuing to undermine Pashto. You will find Tajiks speak foreign languages like English, Hindi, European language or Urdu, despite the mass anti sentiment against Pakistan. However they find an issue speaking Pashto... imagine in Afghanistan whose only 2 national languages are Dari and Pashto, while close to or around 50% of their fellow countrymen speaks it and still they're disinclined to speak or learn Pashto, while foreign language like Urdu/Hindi they will proudly speak and proclaim they can speak it.
Don't get me wrong. I have no issue with people who don't speak Pashto, but it shows whether one cares or not. I have family members who have grown up in Europe, despite being unable to speak Dari, they still try and speak with broken Dari, because they want to show their countrymen that they care. Yet, we have Tajiks who have grown up in Afghanistan and don't show the slightest interest for Pashto and won't speak it even if they know the language.
The other is the political discourse to undermine Pashto and Pashtuns. The very word Pashtunization is a good example. How is Pashtunization so popularised, when the opposite have been the case. Have you seen a Tajik who can't speak Dari and only speaks Pashto as the main language? Probably not, but we can all come with examples of Pashtuns who can't speak Pashto, but speaks Dari as the main language. How come Persianization isn't a popularised term in Afghanistan, which happens daily in Afghanistan. Even I personally have family members that only speaks Dari. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Pashtuns who speaks Dari, but we need to accept it is happening. We need to accept that Persianization is a real thing and Pashtunization is being popularised due to the anti Pashtun political discourse, despite not existing. We need to accept that Pashtuns trying to protect their identity isn't fascism, but an innocent attempt to make people aware of the discourse.
We need to ask ourselves, why did Tajiks protest and wanted the word Daneshgah to replace Pohanton or have it alongside, despite Pohanton being there for as long I remember. That even in spite the many far more important issue plaguing Afghanistan. Poverty, illiteracy, corruption, nepotism, racism, inequality, terrorism, kidnappings and other all sort of crimes. If they used half as much activism to address these important issues instead of "daneshgah", we would have been in a lot better place. That even despite the fact that Farsi language isn't in danger and have plenty nations who speaks it. That even despite that Afghanistan is under Persianization process, yet there is such big political discourse for ethnic or linguistic rivalry to undermine Pashtuns. Why are Pashtuns nationalist or fascists for innocently making people aware of massive linguistic loss, while Tajiks aren't nationalist/fascists for making huge issues of even minor thing and that despite the Dari language being the lingua franca of entire Afghanistan. That despite millions of Pashtuns becoming Dari zaboon(dari speakers). There have been plenty words and terms that are Arabic in Dari/Farsi, yet we have never seen such a political discourse to undermine that. Yet, even if one innocent Pashto word get a bit of traction, all hell breaks lose. From those point we can easily conclude it is not to protect Farsi language, but to undermine Pashto language.
Now ask yourself, whose being greedy and fascists?
Pashtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan should work toward making the educational system/curriculum in Pashto. In the end it is the only thing that matters to preserve and develop a language. Everything else is secondary and will only extend the inevitable.

2021.12.02 09:08 RedDragon777 Question as an Indian in Canada
Is there a proper etiquette in talking to a Muslim girl with a hijab? Especially in terms of serious dating / courtship / for interest in marriage? Or do I go about it the same way as other other people do? I really don’t want to offend someone or say something wrong. Not sure if this is allowed here
